LifeNexus to offer personal health card solution

Thursday 3 March 2011

The LifeNexus Personal Health Card was designed to securely maintain an individual's Personal Health Record (PHR) on a card in their wallet. The patented iChip, (Individually Controlled Health Information Platform), utilizes "mobile server" technology embedded on a chip card which is both encrypted and password-protected, providing a secure environment to store health information for individuals and their family members.

LifeNexus said it will provide, at no cost to healthcare providers, 10,000 professional card readers loaded with the iChip acceptance software.

First iChip microprocessors for the LifeNexus Personal Health Card are to be produced by STMicroelectronics. LifeNexus also partnered with Verifone to enable iChip acceptance software on Verifone’s payment solution.
