This way, a user of banking services enjoy an access means that guarantees that his digital ID cannot be fraudulently abused, and that his transactions and personal data are secure. The user inserts his e-secure USB key in his computer, then, the key asks the user for his PIN, with the same security level as a smart card, and then connects him directly to the Societe Generale internet portal. The web browser is embedded in the key, thus is not subject to alterations. Only the bank can remotely update the web browser thanks to eKeynox.

For Societe Generale, as the issuer of e-secure keys, eKeynox allows to manage remotely a heterogeneous installed base with several USB key types (brand, release, etc.). EKeynox manages lifecycles of tokens, software images (validation, provisioning, maintenance), as well as digital certificates (delivery, renewal, revocation) of e-secure keys, in relation with the application, the PKI, and various databases. These updates are performed when the e-secure keys are connected, in a transparent manner for the end-user. This way, the bank ensures that its installed base of USB tokens is consistent, thus optimizing the token life expectancy.

Based in Montpellier, France, Netheos has been created in 2004. The company provides solutions for of digital transactions security and confidentiality.
