Nokia unveils first netbook

Thursday 17 September 2009

Nokia's move into netbooks comes at a time when more operators are beginning to bundle subsidized laptops with mobile broadband packages, but the Booklet 3G netbook will cost EUR 575 before subsidies and taxes.

Computer-makers including Apple, H-P, Asus, and more recently Acer and Dell have turned their attention to the smartphone segment, putting more pressure on Nokia's market share. Indeed, the company saw its share of the smartphone market slip to 45% in Q2/2009, from 47.4% a year earlier.
