Thursday 10 May 2012

With V.Me, Visa Europe’s objective is to provide consumers and retailers with a streamlined online checkout experience through an acceptance mark that offers Visa security and image. Customers using a Visa card in a V.me wallet will benefit from the same protection and rights that come with any Visa card transaction. V.me wallet is to be bale to incorporate any or all of Visa’s new payment technologies, and to deliver the same payment experience whether face-to-face, online or in a mobile environment.

Payments processor WorldPay has been announced as a key development partner in the delivery of the V.me service in the UK. Further development and launch partners in each market, including banks and retailers, will be announced soon.

E-commerce already represents 22% of Visa Europe's transactions and grew 44% between 2009 and 2011. The V.me wallet is the firm's central tool in its battle for dominance in the online and mobile commerce markets, where it faces competition from a slew of rivals from the tech and telco worlds.
