NFC ticketing in Grenoble

From March 2007, passengers on Grenoble, France public transports will use their mobile phones as electronic tickets, accessing up-to-the-minute travel information, local maps, and a variety of new features that use contactless technology to make daily travel easier, safer and faster.

JCB chooses Visa

JCB (Japan Credit Bureau) announced it has chosen Visa contactless specification for its contactless cards in the Asia Pacific Region. The movement is expected to open the acceptance of JCB's contactless cards J/Speedy, outside of Japan.

GSMA and MasterCard get into Mobile Money transfer

TWIC program awarded to Lockheed Martin

The Phase IV TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential, cf. Smart Insights #07-02) contract has been awarded to Lockheed Martin – Transportation and Security Solutions. Under this program, Lockheed Martin is awarded US$ 70 million (EUR 54 million) for the initial deployment over 16 months of a credential for approximately 750,000 workers requiring access to secure areas of US port facilities.
